Why I started a sewing blog

My name is Kristi.  I started this sewing blog to do a couple of things.  I want to meet others who love to sew.  I want to share sewing ideas with others.  And I want to sell the various types of bags I make.

I began sewing while I was in junior high.  I instantly feel in love with sewing.  Sewing became my way of meeting others.  It became my art and means of expression.  I was good at it and it provided me a means to help others.  Many of my peers were exceptional at academics or sports sewing was my expertise.   I have many friends to this day I met when I was in my first sewing class in junior high.

Over the years sewing has allowed me to find a variety ways of expressing myself.  I have been able to help save money in my family by sewing wonderful dresses for my daughter, Katie and shirts and PJs for my two sons, Matthew and Caden.  I even sewed my wedding dress as well as many of the lovely clothes I wear every day.

My husband and I have incorporated many of the items I sew into our travels.  A few years ago I discovered I could take table place mats and turn them into clutches.  My husband and I travel for his work to many places in North America.  We have turned that job travel into a treasure hunt.  We visit discount stores all over the USA and Canada looking for the place mat that cathes our eye and for the buttons and embellishments that add character to the clutch.

I have now sewed and sold over 200 clutches.  (they sell for $12 plus shipping) I have attached a few for your viewing.  If you are interested in any of them or would like to see additional clutches please contact me through this blog or my email address.  I have a variety of other bags i have made.  i will be displaying them over time on this blog.

I invite you to make comments about my bags or share with me any thing you'd like to talk about in regards to sewing, bags, children or whatever.
